School Health Center

A School-Based Health Center is much more than the traditional school nurse's office. It is a medical facility located in the school that offers many health and medical services like your doctor's office (see list below). We do not replace your primary doctor and all of our services are provided at the school. The student health center is operated by Siskiyou Community Health Center through an agreement with Grants Pass School District 7.

Our staff includes a Physician Assistant (PA) who can treat most health problems and prescribe medications and a Medical Assistant. Brief mental health counseling and/or referral to mental health/drug and alcohol services are also available. All staff are supervised by and have support of the Siskiyou Community Health Center physicians and medical doctor.

We can take care of most of your student's health care needs at the Student Health Center. If there is an emergency or service we do not provide, we contact 911 or will make a referral to another health care provider. When the health center is not open or staff is unavailable, school personnel will follow the school guidelines for all emergency situations.

• Routine physicals, well-child exams, and sports exams
• Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses
• Prescribe medication as appropriate
• Treat minor injuries/illnesses
• Administer vaccinations
• Prevent and treat alcohol and drug problems
• Deliver preventive health and wellness messaging
• Provide and/or connect students with mental health
• counseling
• Provide reproductive health counseling and distribute
• non-hormonal contraceptive upon request.
• Help students find social supports.

If you want to be seen by us, you must have a school-based health center registration packet filled out first. 

Call (541) 479-4825 to schedule a virtual visit or contact your primary care provider. If necessary, we can order a same-day COVID-19 test. Continue to wear a mask and follow the quarantine guidelines given to you from the school.

To maintain the highest level of safety for students, staff and health care providers, we have implemented the use of virtual visits to evaluate patients. Virtual visits are conducted by a live video chat on your tablet, smartphone or computer. We are committed to providing a safe, reliable service to students and faculty in our communities. If it is determined that a physical evaluation is necessary during your virtual visit, we will make arrangements for you to meet with a licensed clinician.
