Joshua Morton, an art teacher at Grants Pass High School, is inviting local businesses and organizations to partner with him to support his One Sweet World student scholarship fund. Morton is offering to create custom artwork for local businesses in exchange for donations to the scholarship, which has helped Grants Pass students pursue post-secondary education since 2013.

Since its creation, Morton has sold his art and donated nearly $40,000 to the fund, which supports high school seniors in his art class who are planning to continue their education after graduation. The scholarship is available to students pursuing any field of study.

Morton’s initiative to offer commissioned art pieces is designed to provide a unique opportunity for local businesses to beautify their spaces while making a positive impact on local students. In exchange for a donation to the One Sweet World Scholarship Fund, Morton will complete an artwork piece tailored to the needs and style of the business or organization. The funds raised will go directly toward helping students with their educational aspirations, furthering Morton’s long-standing mission to support young artists and students.

"I’m excited to offer this new opportunity for local businesses to contribute to our community’s future," said Morton. "It’s a win-win situation—businesses get a unique piece of artwork to display in their space, and local students receive financial support as they pursue their post-secondary dreams."

The One Sweet World Scholarship Fund was established to assist students who demonstrate a commitment to furthering their education, regardless of whether their chosen path is related to the arts. Since its inception, Morton has worked to raise funds and support the next generation of learners. With this new art commission initiative, Morton hopes to expand the reach and impact of the scholarship.
