Grants Pass School District 7 Library Program Information
The school libraries in Grants Pass School District 7 serve both the instructional needs of teachers and the information and reading needs of students across all grade levels.
The GPSD7 Library Media Program actively promotes and aligns with State and District Instructional Goals and Curriculum. Acknowledging the vital role of a comprehensive library media program within the educational framework, our mission is to integrate into the educational process seamlessly. Our goal is to empower students and staff to become proficient users of ideas and information, thereby enhancing their learning experiences. Fostering a love of reading and promoting reading as a recreational activity is an important part of our library program.
“School library programs prepare students to become critical thinkers and engaged citizens in an ever-changing, information-rich society. A strong school library program centers around teaching information literacy and educational technology skills, fostering a love of reading, and emphasizing the importance of social responsibility and digital citizenship in an interconnected world.” -Oregon Library Association
